FAQ
1. Who can join?
Anyone who is affiliated with UC Berkeley can join our club. This includes undergraduate and gradute students, faculty, or anyone employed by UC Berkeley.
2. Are there cuts or minimum requirements?
No! We do not cut anyone. However, we do require that you know how to swim all four strokes and can complete an hour-long workout. We will have several interval options at practice, so come check a practice out!
3. Is attendance mandatory?
There is no practice attendance requirement. We also do not require you to sign up for any meets, but we do strongly encourage you to attend, because the team spirit at meets is one of the biggest reasons why we all love swimming!
4. When are meet dues due by for each meet?
Each meet will have a registration form and meet dues are due when the registration form closes. If you do not pay your dues when meet registration ends, you risk being not registered for the meet.
5. I can't attend a meet I already registered for. Do I still need to pay the expenses for it?
If you drop out of a meet for any reason (other than a medical issue or emergency) after the out-of-pocket expense for travel, splash fee, and / or accommodations has been calculated and announced, unfortunately you must still pay the fee or risk being dropped from the club. The costs were determined through a head count that you were included in, so it would not be fair to raise the price for the other swimmers after the fact. By registering for the swim club, you are agreeing to this term.
